Broker's Comments
Boatshed London is delighted to offer this unique boat, "The Floating Cinema" for sale. Built in 2013 as part of the Olympic Legacy Project, this 60ft Wide Beam boat has been used for events all over the country including outdoor film screenings, presentations, talks and workshops.
The boat was commissioned by UP Projects, designed by architects Duggan Morris, and built by Turks Shipyard in Chatham. UP Projects are now moving on to concentrate on different ventures, and the boat is therefore now available for anyone who may wish to continue to use it in the same way or adapt it to suit their own needs
Operating as a Floating Cinema it has been a successful venture with a busy stream of revenue from private event bookings. Alternatively, the boat would be ideal as a floating office, classroom/lecture space or potentially even a houseboat conversion.
Designed and built with sustainability in mind, the engine is a diesel-electric hybrid, which can be run purely on electric power for three hours. Self-sufficient in that all the AV equipment for the cinema can also be run off the high-tech batteries, making it suitable for the uses proposed above.
The boat is licensed for 12 people when moving, 24 when stationary but obviously when set up as an out door cinema with an external screen audience numbers are not limited.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
