Shorepower is standard 30 amp marine-type shorepower connection and cable.
There are no engines installed. If it is desired to move the houseboat under her own power then two outboards, sized depending upon desired speed and distance would be installed in the existing engine wells. A couple of relatively inexpensive used outboards would do the trick.

Built upon an aluminum pontoon hull. The deck and house are built with contemporary and sturdy home-type materials, and the deck is coated with Rhino Lining. Every aspect of this houseboat appears to be built to last and for easy maintenance.
One 250 gallon black water holding tank.
2 x 500 gallon gray water holding tanks.
There is no water tank aboard, though this could be added if required. Water supply is direct from the shore connection.
Total weight estimated at 28,000 lbs.
The Urban 5 is designed to be capable of meeting a reasonable definition of "boat" to comply with live-aboard and vessel moorage laws. Check your local regulations however! With the addition of twin outboards and associated controls the houseboat could be operated quite effectively. It has navigational lights, a suitable helm station area, a pontoon hull (with engine mounting wells) that is designed as a real boat hull, and marvelous fore and aft decks.

Board astern from the large aft deck which has plenty of sitting space plus storage enough for kayaks or paddleboards.
The main deck interior includes a well-lit office-like desk and storage area aft and a storage closet and a pantry aft port. The linear gourmet galley with granite countertop extends forward starboard and includes the following stainless steel appliances:
- Fisher & Paykel propane range
- Maytag convection microwave
- GE refrigerator/freezer
- Dishwasher
The roomy head port midships is nicely appointed and includes a large enclosed shower stall.
The saloon is framed by lots of windows and is roomy enough to accommodate a variety of buyer-supplied freestanding furniture. Bamboo paneling, cork ceiling tiles and simple but attractive joinery make this a very appealing living space. And you can't beat the view. Access to the foredeck is through a centerline door.
The top deck is reached by a ladder/stair to the master stateroom. A door aft provides access to more spacious deck area, and wide side decks on each side lead to yet another beautiful deck.
With a fold-out sofa or futon in the saloon this boat could accommodate guests -- and lots more guests if sleeping under the stars is ok!
Cabin heat is from an installed electric fireplace and portable electric heaters. A furnace could be installed (or air conditioning if desired). Good insulation in the walls and floors mean low heating requirements. Stainless steel hot water heater.

Broker's Comments
Urban Houseboats, the manufacturer of this Urban 5 was established in Seattle which is famed for its live-aboard houseboat community. But unlike the typical Seattle houseboat (often floating on a raft of logs) this houseboat is built on a real aluminum pontoon hull (with a distinct pointy end!). Its dimensions are suitable for moorage in a 48' or 50' slip, and with the addition of outboard engines and associated controls it could maneuver under its own power.
It's no wonder that houseboats of this type are such attractive lifestyle choices -- beautiful surroundings, ease of relocation, and a unique mode of living that few in the world get to enjoy. And simplicity -- maintenance compared to a similarly-sized conventional boat would be immensely less demanding and expensive. This 2009 Urban 5 is beautifully designed and built, and in terrific condition. It boasts quality home-style appliances, a comfortable layout, and lots of exterior deck space from which to enjoy life on the water. Live-aboard Seattle moorage is potentially transferable.
