The Cummins 6BT 210 HP engines were installed in 1994. These are known to be highly reliable marine engines with exceptional performance and economy. The exhaust systems were replaced in 2018 and the engines have always been professionally serviced. The starboard engine hour meter is inoperative - total hours are reflected on the port engine hour meter.
New 8D batteries were installed in 2018. The Northern Lights 6.5 KW generator has just over 500 hours. It is installed in an efficient sound shield enclosure and is quiet in use. The engine room is well insulated for sound containment. It is clean and offers good access. The stainless steel fuel tanks feature sight gauges. A Racor primary fuel filtration manifold system is in place. An engine oil changing system is installed for both engines and generator oil changes.

The layout and spaciousness aboard this 38 foot boat is remarkable. It would be a great choice for cruising and living aboard.
Enter from the covered sundeck down four steps to the main salon. The lower helm is to starboard with a white leatherette recliner aft of the wheel. This reclines to permit sleeping. Opposite to port are two white leatherette sofas and each converts into a twin sized berth. There is shelving aft in the salon, a high-low table, and wrap around windows for great visibility underway. Headroom in the salon is 6’ 5”.
Forward and down three steps is the galley. This features an electric 3-burner cooktop, a large Cuisinart microwave, Norcold 120/12 volt refrigerator and freezer, and ample counter space and storage. Headroom in the galley is 6’ 5”, plus the galley opens to the main salon for a great sense of space. Opposite the galley is the guest marine head compartment with separate shower stall.
Forward from the galley space is the private guest cabin. This features an elevated offset double berth, a convenient seat, and ample storage in drawers and a hanging locker. The cabin is beautifully trimmed in teak. Headroom in the forward cabin is 6’ 4”.
Aft from the salon is the master suite. This cabin spans the full beam of the boat for a great amount of interior space. A walk-around queen berth is in the center with storage cabinets to port and starboard. Windows surround the cabin exterior. A leak in the port and starboard windows has damaged the interior paneling in the aft corners – please see the photos. The rest of the teak paneling is in good condition. The damaged panels are fully accessible for repair or replacement. This master suite features separate marine toilet and shower compartments port and starboard in the forward part of the cabin. Headroom in this cabin is 6’ 4”. All of the shower compartments in the boat have teak seats and floor grating. The entire boat is heated by a forced air diesel furnace.

If you are looking for a VERY spacious cruising or liveaboard boat under forty feet in length, this Transworld Flying Dutchman 380 is worth your consideration.
The elevated sundeck with hardtop provides for a great outside seating area and permits a full beam aft cabin below. The master suite with a walk-around queen berth and separate toilet and shower compartments is a big plus for a liveaboard owner. There's a private guest cabin and a marine head with shower stall as well. All of the shower stalls are large and have seats as well.
The twin Cummins 210 HP diesels are in top condition for cruising. A diesel forced air furnace, a quiet generator in a sound shield below decks, and ample fuel and water tankage would provide comfort and independence for a voyage through the Inside Passage to Alaska.
Some cosmetic damage to interior paneling in the aft cabin needs to be attended to. The owner is currently repairing the window seals and panels. The rest of the interior looks great and is without issue. The exterior is due for buffing and waxing... and she will shine up nicely. The equipment aboard works. The engines and generator are serviced and fully operational. The hull is well designed, constructed, and strong.
This boat has been a US Coast Guard Auxiliary patrol vessel and in that service she was inspected annually for all required equipment and certified for operational use. She has been maintained by a conscientious owner and is ready for her next mission. Please reach out if you are interested in discovering more about this boat in person.
