Broker's Comments
The Prout family began building catarmarans in the 1950's in the UK and the Snowgoose 37 production began in the 1980's. The Elite came slightly later, the main difference being an extra foot of beam giving more room below. They were designed as ocean cruisers, heavier than the average production cat due to traditional build methods and with more emphasis on seakeeping abilities than interior volume.
The decks are clear and with a solid bridgedeck rather than a trampoline she feels safe and sturdy as you move around. She has inmast furling on the main, furling headsails and all lines leading into the cockpit making her nice and easy to sail short handed although there is plenty of space for crew or sunbathing guests too
Below she has a great versatile layout. The two double cabins aft have good sized berths, a vanity area and plenty of usable storage. The forward single again has more than enough space and the saloon seating is a very easy convert. For a boat of this size the heads are vast and well laid out, as is the galley. The navigation area for me was just fantastic. A full size chart table with a hidden seat, lots of light and space for instruments and within talking distance of the helmsman (or one step up to the autopilot)
This is a really lovely example of a very well thought out design. Be it crossing oceans or anchoring in shallow bays this boat will be comfortable regardless of the elements
