Broker's Comments
This is a delightful classic liveaboard with a residential mooring in Central London. Step aboard and you know you’re aboard a true classic. Built by Thornycroft in 1928, this former pilot boat was built for speed but she’s now set up for a rather more tranquil existence.
There’s character in abundance, with some really clever modern design touches, the combination of which makes this a very desirable houseboat. The interior space is bright and welcoming with a fully glassed wheelhouse and a really cool saloon area. Unusually for a boat of this size, there’s masses of storage space, including wardrobes, bookshelves, lockers and a huge space below the aft deck.
However, the owner understands that some minor structural work is required and some planks will need replacing and the price of the boat has recently been reduced to reflect this. To describe this boat as a 'project boat' would be too harsh; it's nothing that can't be cured with some remedial work - and this is even less of a problem if the boat is to be used only as a liveaboard.
She comes with a transferable Central London residential mooring licence in one of London's most sought after marinas, which supports a lively social life and a great community. The marina is close to Canary Wharf and the City, so this could make a great pied-a-terre for a City worker.
