Plank mahogany is the easy description. Ed Monk detail is seen everywhere on this beautiful vessel. 6 inch above water line and 12 inch below has iron bark treatment for protection. The owner tells me you can't drive a nail through it. A 2010 survey says, "tap sounded extremely strong and appeared to be a dry boat". Maintenance has been continuous with nothing deferred.

While formally identifed as a two-cabin pilot house trawler, the layout of this boat easily sleeps nine and could accommodate eleven if two were children. It's a family-friendly interior. The master has a double, three singles are in the second cabin. A bunk house arrangement in the pilot house comfortably holds two more and the white leather hide-a-bed couches in the salon will sleep 6 if two are under 5 foot. The owner tells me he's had 20 people on board and it's easy to see where they all fit with room to spare. The spacious salon once held church pews and an organ in service of this boat's original mission. It has been transformed to a beautiful teak-and-holly-floored area with white leather couches and a gourmet galley with granite counters to facilitat the enjoyment of family and friends. Flybridge decks are comparably large.

Broker's Comments
When I went aboard this boat I was most impressed with the size, luxury and warmth of the salon. The owner is a seller and installer of granite surfaces along with all other high end interior flat surface products and he spared no attention on his boat. This lovely Ed Monk-designed Pilothouse Trawler was purpose-built by Nordlund Boat Company for missionary work to the coastal villages of Alaska. Built in 1970 and equipped with church pews, an organ and shag carpets this vessel worked in the service of Seventh Day Adventists delivering bibles, supplies and workers along thousands of miles of fjords and islands where isolated communities were perched. Today, shag carpets have been replaced with custom teak inlays in teak and holly sole floors. Leather couches have displaced hardwood pews. A gourmet galley with granite countertops and a custom sink has been added along with corian vanity tops in both of the well-appointed heads. Repowered, restored, refurbished is the condition today, all with modern luxury as the theme. A 2010 survey report says, “This vessel’s hull, decks and house were tap sounded EXTREMELY STRONG…it also has iron bark located 12 inch below waterline extending 6 inch above waterline for protection”. All USCG safety requirements are up to date or new this summer. The pilot house seating doubles as two chain-hung berths and with the hide-a-bed leather couches this two cabin motor yacht sleeps 11 and could easily be considered if you are looking for a three cabin vessel. She knows the path to Alaska so any fun you can think of between here and there is yours and with absolutely no deferred maintenance you can leave as soon as you buy the groceries! Now priced under $90,000 she represents a great value for a new owner.
