Solid simplicity and belt and braces. A Gardener 6L a diesel generator for the 12v et 24v & a 2.5Kva petrol Honda plumbed in for the 220v. A drip feed 8Kw Somy diesel stove provides cozy warmth to radiators and hot water. Hot water also from a 220v 120lt immersion heater or from a Vaillant instant gas heater !

MFV by Tyrrell of Arklow Ireland. 1 ½ inch Larch planking on 6x4 oak frames. Keel laid in 1952 commissioned in 1953 but very quickly decommissioned and returned to Tyrrell’s who converted her into a private yacht !

Cozy accommodation upgraded by the present owner who is an experienced yachtsman and wooden boat enthusiast. The owners aft cabin has a large dressing room and oceans of storage having been adapted from three separate cabins. At the time of this conversion a second heads and shower was « done away with » though all skin fittings are still in place and an « ensuite » could easily be envisaged ! Headroom varies between 1.9 and 1.8 on main deck and 1 .75 on the cabin deck. Main double 1.9 x 1.2 but easily made larger in both directions. Guest bed 1.25 reducing to 1.05 x 1.9
Super shaded aft deck and second « breakfast galley » in the saloon makes preparing the cocktail for guest a breeze.

Intime et cossu. Le bateau a gardé son charme d’autrefois même si son propriétaire actuel (un navigateur expérimenté et passionné de bateaux en bois) a su faire des améliorations astucieuses. La cabine de propriétaire avec son dressing a été obtenu par la transformation de trois cabines et en supprimant une douche WC. Cependant toutes les passe coques sont toujours en place et il sera facile de les rétablir ! La deuxième cuisine dans le salon facilite la vie pour la préparation des collations et apéros sur la terrasse. Hauteur sous barrot de 1.90 à 1.80 pont principal et 1.75 pont inférieur. Lit master 190X120 facilement modifiable et un lit d’amis 125 qui se réduit à 105 aux pieds X 190 encore facilement modifiable.

Boatshed Midi canals is very please to offer this converted MFV for sale. She is a cosy comfortable charming liveaboard built to withstand the rigours of sea fishing but quickly converted into a private yacht by her original builders Tyrells of Arklow. The present owner has lavished much attention on the vessel with many modifications and improvements that have scrupulously respected the original charm and character of an MFV. She also carries a small car on the front deck which can be boarded via ramps or the crane (see photos). Though not profesionally surveyed since 1993 she is regularly slipped and was last out of the water in 2014 for antifouling and anodes. The residential south of France mooring is included and paid up for 2014.
