Broker's Comments

A personal favourite of mine, the Maxum 2400 SE is an ideal mid-sized powerboat with great on-water performance and facilities that gives the whole family the chance to escape for the day, or the weekend.

The cockpit has seating for six (at a pinch) and easy access to the swim platform. There are speakers located in the cabin and the cockpit. In typical American fashion, there are quite a few drink holders conveniently located around the boat.

The helm station has a full set of gauges including fuel, oil pressure, speed, tacho, leg trim, volts and water temp, with Raymarine Dradonfly 5 – echo sounder, steering compass VHF/DSC marine radio, fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detector, 240v shore power and battery charger.

Other instrumentation includes an engine blower switch, ignition safety switch and a 12V accessory outlet.

Her current Boat Safety Certificate expires 2024.

A twin helm seat, adjustable-tilt steering wheel, combined with power steering, give the driver fingertip control out on the water.

Below deck, Maxum have also kept things pretty simple. The small, neat cabin with a galley area, gets plenty of natural light from the deck hatch and there’s ample storage in side shelves and under the vee-berth. Hot and cold pressurised water system, refrigerator, single hob, electric cooker, microwave, cool box.

Maxum has managed to keep the weight of this 7.6m vessel well in check. Powered by a single engine Mercruiser 5.0L MPi, 260 hp, she has a top speed on the GPS of 42 knots, but cruises comfortably between 23 to 35 knots.

Last Antifouled and new anodes 01/03/2023.

Overall, the 2400 SE falls into the ‘I want one’ category. Maxum have managed to deliver comfort and performance without getting too carried away.
