Broker's Comments
This yacht was, until two months ago, owned by one owner from new; a competent and keen yachtsman. She has just been re-presented for sale by her second owner of less than two months tenure, who's wife discovered on her first trip out of the marina, that sailing was not for her. As can be seen from the photographs she is immaculate. You could be forgiven for thinking you are stood on a new boat at the Southampton Boat Show! The Hunter Legend is a very popular brand in the USA but is perhaps less well known on this side of the pond. Bristling with innovative features she will appeal more to the modernist than to the traditionalist, but this 36 is a modern, comprehensively equipped and highly specified bilge keeler which can be easily handled by a short handed crew. She majors on light, airy and voluminous accommodation while retaining good sailing performance and Yachting Monthly reports that suitably reefed the model makes a respectable 5.8 knots at 40° off a 24-knot apparent wind and off the wind flies at 7-8 knots! She comes utterly complete with full cockpit enclosure for protection from rain or sun at anchor or marina berth, brand new unused dinghy and outboard, and a recent survey with all points covered.
In all we can expect that she is a competent cruising yacht, easily handled and fun to sail and, as YM opines, "she offers all the comforts of a modern, spacious seaside apartment with bags of room for guests"!
Her current owner is now looking for a canal narrow boat!
