Hi Star was a well regarded Taiwanese builder in the late 80's whose business appears to have started, run for about 4 years, then stopped due to exchange rates of the Taiwanese / US dollar. Hi Star resumed construction with larger yachts. Arden, as reported by the seller, was a designer who at some point went on to Ocean Alexander, though I don't have more information (and will welcome feedback from people knowledgeable about this).
Fuel tanks are aluminum, waste is fiberglass, potable water tank material is unknown.
Hull above waterline is reported to be Airex cored according to internet search but this is not confirmed by 2015 survey. Last haul and bottom paint was August 2015 at CSR Boatyard in Seattle. For most of the past 11 years the boat has been in fresh water and for some years before that too having been used as a bed and breakfast in the ship canal.
Note: Draft, displacement and other specifications are estimates based on similar size, vintage and construction styles. Seller-provided information has not been authenticated by Waterline Boats.

Broker's Comments
This 42 foot aft cabin Hi-Star has a huge interior. The full-beam aft cabin with en-suite head is as spacious as some apartments. The salon is comfy having a corner settee with table and a large flat screen TV above a cabinet with a built in washer/dryer. Galley down is well equipped and the forward cabin is comfortably large with a very nice vanity and a flat screen TV. The guest head with separate shower is just forward of the guest cabin across from the galley. Low hours twin Caterpillar 3208 engines and loads of outdoor living spaces make this boat a good consideration for a live-aboard.
