Broker's Comments
Following her launch, in 1939, we understand that this sturdy vessel was immediately requisitioned for war time duties by the Admiralty. After serving as a fleet tender through the war, she was then reverted to her original role as an MFV, operating from Buckie, Wick and Peterhead.
In the mid 70's, she was retired from her fishing role and converted for leisure. In 2016, the current owners brought her down from the Clyde, under her own steam. They stripped her out, repaired some of the decking framework and removed some of the internal bulkheads, ready to begin their own conversion. However, recent events have meant that they no longer have the time to continue with this promising project so they have decided to sell.
With generous headroom throughout, there's acres of space onboard that is ready to be custom designed to your own taste. Two separate ladders, one fore and one aft, provide safety, privacy and access to below deck where an enormous forward cabin area lies, with a separate heads compartment, sink and shower cubicle, all ready for fitting out.
Midships, there is an engine room / workshop for easy access to an impressive 6 Cylinder Gardiner engine, which I understand is much sought after & valuable in its own right.
Aft of the engine room is another large cabin, which again needs work, but could easily be converted into two cabins or accommodate an ensuite heads.
Up above, level with the deck, there is a huge, airy saloon / galley / dining area. This, on its own, is a great living space with lots of natural light. Forward of this, is the all important wheelhouse providing shelter to the helmsman and convenient access, via a side door, to the starboard deck.
On deck, there is plenty of space, high bulwarks and wide side decks to keep family & pets safe. There are a couple of masts to throw some sails on to and a good, strong, hydraulic windlass to raise the anchor.
Currently in the water on a working boatyard, with facilities (toilets, showers, laundry & cafe), this project vessel has character & space in abundance along with unlimited potential.
