Broker's Comments
Well, what do I say about this old girl? The first impression is of spaciousness, light and an ambiance of relaxed comfort. I visited on a dank and drizzly day, and the wheelhouse area with the galley and dining space were bright and warm, and I have to say she has a comfortable, easy feel about her.
She dates from 1945, larch on oak, and she has recently been lifted and completely re-caulked the proper way, using oakum and black tar, followed by a primer and then antifouling. She looks very smart in her red paint with her clean grey decks and polished brass.
Down below, again the atmosphere is homely and friendly - I bet she is really snug in winter with the heating going and the wood burner blazing. Two decent cabins with double beds, and a roomy heads with separate shower.
The engine room is the size of Bournemouth, it doubles as a sort of shed and storage area, but the Foden FD6 is in full working order – indeed she went to sea quite recently when she went round to Gosport to have her caulking done.
Very comfortable, private and not a lot of money for your new home! If you get bored with the view you can just go somewhere else!
