Broker's Comments
Boatshed Norfolk are very pleased to offer this as-new Collingwood Abode 64 wide beam steel barge.
This boat has just 10 hours on the engine and is to my eye presented as new with very little use indeed by her one and only meticulous owner.
The Abode is the upper spec Collingwood wide beam and it shows everywhere you look as this vessel is quite simply stunning in every aspect.
She is genuinely magnificent to be aboard and feels like a real and very solid home afloat. No compromise has been made in this fit-out as this is a dedicated couples boat with a large forward cabin that is beautifully trimmed and finished in oak with a king size bed and stunning cabinetry with pop-up TV and 4 full size wardrobes plus loads of other storage. She benefits from the upgraded thermal break double glazed windows fitted which keep her snug and cosy
Double doors lead you out to the forward deck / cratch which has seating for two and access to the bow, anchor locker and bow thruster etc. This is a wonderful spot from which to watch the world go by in the mornings or just relax outside.
Heading aft from the huge and impressive forward cabin down an oak lined companionway we have a very large full size bathroom to starboard. I am calling it a bathroom and not a "heads" as it is bigger than many shore side bathrooms and far better equipped and finished. This space is just amazing and compliments the high quality of this vessel perfectly. A full size power shower in one corner faces the full size whirlpool bath and a vanity unit that would not be out of place in a top class hotel!
The electric pump out heads is also beautifully designed and the whole space feels very high quality and roomy beyond belief.
Heading further aft down the companionway you open out in to the large open plan saloon and galley beyond. This space is equally breath-taking and makes a real statement of quality opulence and comfort all in one attack on the visual senses.
The saloon is dominated by a centrally mounted feature wall / fireplace all panelled in oak and fitted with a large TV above the feature fireplace below that accommodates a solid fuel stove. Wraparound oak cabinetry extends this feature wall to starboard giving excellent storage and a beautiful look to the space. Stand alone furnishings can be arranged to suit the owner and offers great flexibility of this space.
The galley aft of the saloon is sublime and fully featured with an island dining and cooking station with a stainless steel feature extractor above, and 5 burner gas hob and storage below.
The remaining galley wraps around this island on all sides with storage cupboards and granite worktops, butler sink and display and storage areas and also a concealed dishwasher and a washer dryer and a slimline drinks cooler / fridge to keep your wine and beer cold.
At the galley's aft end are two full height cabinets. One houses a full size gas oven and grill with a full size freezer under. The other side of the wide main companionway is the other similar cabinet housing a large combi microwave oven and full size fridge and heating and other controls above.
Moving further aft up the wide teak stepped companionway we get to the vast aft cockpit. This space is flanked by full wraparound seating plus a separate bulkhead seat and this huge space is covered by a full size canopy that means the space is usable in any weather. It can be opened up on nice days which will give a great alfresco space to relax or entertain as it must seat 10 with ease and still leave a large floor area and the helm station to port.
The floor has three lift out panels which give you access to the engine room and the vast under floor storage spaces and all the technical equipment areas. These spaces are as new: dry, clean and immaculate as you would expect.
The exterior of the boat is almost totally unmarked with just a tiny (approx.) 70mm x 5mm scuff on a forward coachroof edge at the cratch and this is almost unnoticeable. That is genuinely all I can fault on this amazing boat. I can't see a mark anywhere at all!
The coachroof has 4 large conformal solar panels to generate power and keep the batteries charged. and the battery charger is a 3kv inverter charger unit giving great flexibility when off-grid.
The Boat Safety Certificate runs to November 2025 and her Broads toll is paid to March 2024.
