The Amberjack 290 features an open cockpit layout with two options to board: via the transom door on the swim step or stepping aboard the side transom. It features a complete canvas cockpit cover, sun awning and a tent cover. Rod holders have been installed on the radar arch and transom. A live-bait well system in the cockpit area may also be used for storage. Stepping into the cockpit via the transom door, you will notice back-to-back lounge seating, and double helm seats. The helm is located forward on the starboard side with a large dash area for additional electronics. A comfortable helm seat has a lower bolster which may be flipped up for more space at the helm. Making your way forward and below into the cabin, the wet head is to port, followed by a simple but adequate galley that is equipped with a mini fridge, single burner stove and microwave. Forward of the galley is the master V-berth. This area is complete with windows on either side and a large hatch above allowing optimal lighting down below. On the starboard side there is a comfortable dinette (which converts into a berth), a tv, stereo and the main electrical panel. Situated aft and below the helm section is a single cabin which features a single berth or can be used as additional storage. There is electric heat provided by 120v power or while underway.
In my opinion there seems to be adequate storage throughout this boat and space to include guests.

VIRTUAL TOUR - VIDEO - 80 TO 100 PHOTOS - FULL SPECS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS 2001 SEA RAY 290 AMBERJACK ~ Very low hours on fully rebuilt engines, this perfect northwest cruiser is ready for its new home. The SeRay Amberjack was purpose built to be both a cruiser and stout fishing vessel. Only a two-owner boat, her current owner has kept her in freshwater and under cover during his ownership. The v-drives are perfect for the northwest - no outdrive maintenance nor saltwater corrosion issues to contend with. New in 2018 is a 7 inch Sonar/fish finder/GPS unit. Radar is in full working order and is located on the Aluminum Arch with four rocket launcher rod holders. With a large 10’6” beam she is wider than the 30ft Sundancer and has a flush cockpit ideal for entertaining. There are two canvass configurations, Full camper and Storage (with rear window), both are in above average condition. The same mechanic has worked on the boat between both owners and there was always regular maintenance. New in 2018 – Battery charger, both props, repaired trim tab, repaired cockpit heat venting, new impellers and some additional minor work. You will not find a better 30ft boat to experience all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
In my opinion this a well-designed boat that can accommodate a small family, a couple with friends or an outdoor enthusiast.
