Broker's Comments

Boatshed London are delighted to offer this Sea Chief 38 for sale with London residential mooring at South Dock Marina, SE16.

These Taiwanese-built trawlers were probably never designed to be liveaboards but any aft cabin, flybridge boat does suit use as a houseboat because they have good sized rooms and lots of outdoor space. This example was built in 1979 and has had the forward cabin converted into the galley which leaves extra living space in the saloon. There is also a separate shower room that has been added next to the galley. The galley has been recently refurbished, with new oak kitchen top, new sink unit and a new coat of paint - it includes a two burners hob and a large fridge/freezer as well as lots of storage

The main living area is light and bright with space for a desk along with the large seating area and table. Towards the aft is the master cabin which has a good sized double bed and ensuite heads with a second shower. There is lots of storage in the cabinets and under the bed.

Externally, the large flybridge and deck is a fantastic place to sit out for a summer evening and there is plenty of space for seating and a table. The teak deck looks to be in good order but some of the grabrails need attention which some sanding and varnish should see to.

The residential mooring at South Dock is fully transferable (10% transfer fee) and current mooring fees are roughly £5,500 per annum. The marina is well run with cheaper fees than many of the other marinas and has a strong community spirit.
