The President 37 Sundeck is an aft cabin raised (enclosed) sundeck cruiser that offers a lot of space, solid teak joinery, and large windows for panoramic views. The hull is a modified V, which culminates in hard chines allowing for a shallow draft and stability for a boat of its size.
Wide side decks offer ease and safety moving forward or aft when docking or pulling fenders.
The sundeck and upper helm are completely enclosed with canvas and large windows, offering excellent visibility. The upper helm is equipped with electronics and controls for navigation and plenty of seating for guests to be comfortable while underway. The full width sundeck is just three steps down with space for a table and chairs. There is easy access to the decks or to the main salon; this boat has a very open, “connected” feel.
Entering the salon though a wide sliding door, you are greeted with warm teak throughout and comfortable appointments: two chairs face a settee with a high-low table between and are situated to port. There is room for a small chair or two to starboard. The lower helm is starboard as well. Compartments, a book shelf, chart storage and drawers surround the salon. The teak throughout the boat appears to be in good condition. Large windows throughout the salon and the front windows provide loads of light giving the space an open spacious feeling and being able to enjoy the scenery while inside.
The U-shaped galley is forward and down three steps. Located to port, is the Princess three- burner propane stove/oven, a side-by-side stainless steel sink with a separate faucet for filtered fresh water, loads of counter space and storage above and below complete the working space. The large Norcold refrigerator/freezer with a Sharp Microwave above is starboard. The Village Marine water maker controls are above a large hanging locker, the filters and pump components are installed in the locker; easy access yet out of the way. Another hanging locker, built in storage and additional space underneath the floor hatches combines to create lots of storage – smart!
Forward of the galley is the guest stateroom and ensuite head. The berths may be configured two ways: either as over/under bunks with a small settee or the lower berth may become a double with an insert. Built-in bookshelves, drawers, hanging locker and compartments provide ample storage space. The bow thruster motor is located underneath the v-berth.
The master stateroom with ensuite head is aft with a large island double (hinged to easy access to storage and the stern thruster motor and battery underneath). Hanging lockers, drawers, and bookshelves surround the stateroom. The head with separate shower is to port and is quite large for a boat of this size.
The Ford Lehman SP225 turbo-charged engine, Onan generator and Wabasto diesel heater are easily accessed underneath the salon hatches.
This will be a very comfortable live aboard, or cruiser, for her next owners!

This boat is an excellent version of a year-round Pacific Northwest boat.
The boat is equipped with an efficient single Ford Lehman SP225 turbo diesel, bow and stern thrusters, an Onan generator and Webasto diesel heater for easy handling and year-round comfort. The current owners purchased the boat in anticipation of a journey up the Inside Passage which was completed summer 2023! They have added three solar panels with a Victron control system, a Village Marine water maker, stereo system with Bose speakers throughout, a Roskelley-Olssen manual davit system which allows easy deployment of the dinghy, replaced the swim platform supports, upgraded the dinghy and motor and added Garmin navigation to the dinghy.
The two-cabin, two-head layout offers privacy when cruising with others. The salon is cozy and the galley has loads of storage options to accommodate either extended cruising or living aboard.
If you have been considering a Tollycraft, CHB or Grand Banks of this era, I encourage you to give this boat a good look!
