Broker's Comments

RAMILLE was built for Colonel O H Bayldon of the Royal Thames and Royal Motor Yacht Clubs in 1938 to a design by C W Burnard of Itchenor. She was built by Willam Osborne Ltd. Arun Shipyard, Littlehampton. The brief was to design a modern motor-yacht for continental cruising over many months and RAMILLE incorporated many quite novel features for the time, including automatic steering, forward observation cockpit and gas-powered domestic equipment. As such RAMILLE was featured in the April 1938 copy of The Motor Boat Magazine.

Onboard there is plenty of documents showing her history including a letter from the Osborne association showing her being owned by the MOD during the war.
She was involved in the evacuation at Dunkirk, bringing our British troops home in WW2. She was then put back in to private hands and has been used at a second home.

She needs some immediate work to bring her up to scratch including work to get the stbd engine running again. As with all vessels of this age and design she will need plenty of maintenance and upkeep but is a great looking classic vessel with many more years of service to give.

Prior to the present owner she had been recently renovated, internally and externally, engines serviced and with a good hull survey. This is a great opportunity to acquire a good sized classic motor-yacht with plenty of history.
