Broker's Comments
Where do I start with this amazing example of this classic and very solid and spacious Moonraker 36.
This has to be the stand out boat of this type being owned by the same attentive and caring owner for the last 37 years! She has genuinely had no expense spared on her in that time.
From her fully renewed wood interior replaced by Brooms Boats to the full osmosis treatment and subsequent copper coat to the hull by Foxes in Ipswich the list of maintenance and improvements go on and on!
Everywhere you look the boat exudes the class that she was built with and the condition of everything you look at belies her age due to the level of care and love that has be bestowed upon her. Most of the original fittings and fixures have been lovingly preserved and all still work including the autopilot system. The engine bay is immaculate and the boat has a solid feel that many newer boats would be envious of. This boat has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Recently re upholstered in the same style and scheme she was originally built with, her comfort and classic looks have been lovingly preserved. Make no mistake this is a very capable and spacious 36 foot boat that offers far more space than many newer 36 footers. She is just as happy running about the broads as she is heading across the North Sea to Europe and has been up and down the East coats and to Europe many times in her life. This is a rare opportunity to acquire what I would believe to be one of the very best of her type available.
As you can imagine with a fastidious owner of some 37 years, the boat is a little cluttered with some of the owners items at present as they still regularly come to and use the boat every two weeks. The owner is an engineer so the level of engineering and maintenance and ingenuity is very high indeed. They will be incredibly sad to see the boat go. To find a boat that has been so well loved and owned for such a long time is amazingly rare and testament to her durability and quality construction.
As mentioned the boat underwent full professional Osmosis treatment and re gel by a professional and respected expert yard in the subject in 2010 and was since fully copper coated too. The receipts and invoices are all available. This work was done some 11 years ago and the latest survey in September 2020 came back very good with only two recommendations re seacock bonding and fire safety of outdated extinguishers. Both of which were addressed by the owner.
She is Broads river tolled and taxed and has a valid BSS to September 2021
