Broker's Comments
Built by J Hinks & Co at its Appledore boatyard in 1970, this boat was one of eight built for HM Customs & Excise. She has been fully restored and converted into a super cruiser / houseboat. Constructed from wood carvel (teak) with a round bilge and of the Hinks hull form, she has a Cummins V8 diesel engine, which is surprisingly economical, burning only around 1ltr/mile. The hull was casco sheathed up to the waterline when built.
This boat has a great combination of original features and ‘mod cons’. She has a double cabin forward, and the saloon converts into a further double. There’s a spacious aft cockpit (currently under a tonneau cover) which is ideal for soaking up the summer sun or relaxing with a glass of something tasty.
She’s on a safe and secure marina mooring (with car parking) in London Docklands, just a few minutes from Canary Wharf and close to the DLR, shops, restaurants and bars. She would make an ideal Central London liveaboard or a super river / coastal cruiser.
This is a delightful boat which sits on a prized residential mooring in one of the capital's nicest marinas - and extremely well placed for the Olympics.
