Lovely looking hull. She was blacked 5 years ago. and the owner fires up the engine regularly. Was fitted out as a liveaboard by one of the Dutch Barge Association Chairmen to a very high standard. Built in Druten Holland in 1928 of riveted steel on steel ribs. The conversion was completed using 5mm steel on substantial frameworks and the suspended flooring allows access to all services for maintenance. She has a flat bottomed hull.

Currently she has two independent areas for living accommodation. The best way to describe it is by likening it to a house with a granny annex.
This Dutch Barge would be ideal for a family with older teenagers, or a relative that wishes for independence or for someone who runs a business from home. There is so much space and even more potential too.

Broker's Comments

This beautiful barge has been looked after very well over the years. Unfortunately the current owners circumstances have changed over the last couple of years and he can no longer live on board due to family responsibilities. One of her previous owners was a chairman of the Dutch Barge Association and as a result has been really well fitted out. There are 9 cabins at the moment with potential for more without creating very small spaces.
She originally worked out of Rotterdam carrying grain and worked until approximately 1980. Then she was brought from Holland to UK by an Englishman. The Chairman of the Dutch Barge Association acquired her and professionally fitted her out. He was reputed to be a steel fabricator by trade. There is rockwall insulation below the waterline and professionally sprayed foam above.
This Dutch Barge has been on many a cruise in her time and fits in all of the Freycinett locks with space to spare. She would be ideal for a family. She would also suit a person wishing for decent living and working accommodation. She is a fabulous craft. Her current owners circumstances have changed and he is reluctantly having to put her on the market to sell.
