The Ed Monk Sr. design and Blanchard Boat Company combination really had wooden boat building dialed in during this era in Seattle. Utilizing the finest double-planked Port Orford Cedar she is one of the best Pacific Northwest cruisers around for strength and longevity. Some years back the owner cut a 2" plug out of the bottom for an installation and the wood looked like new and oozed pitch when set in the sun. I personally witnessed a fastener being removed from the bottom for a survey and the silicon bronze screw was perfect. The house has a few areas in need of touch-up and the hullsides need sanding, priming and painting. The most recent surveyor comments describe the craft as very well maintained and cared for...

As the co-owner states she is like walking into a "time capsule". Entering into the bridgedeck/pilothouse you will find a very spacious setee where passengers can sit in comfort while chatting with the captain during long passages. Stepping down forward into the galley there is a huge refrigerator freezer to starboard and a large L-shaped stainless countertop to port. Forward to the forepeak -- to port are the washer/dryer and a very gorgeous shower to port and a basin on the starboard side. Moving aft from the bridgedeck and down the curved companionway there is a head on the starboard side and two quarter berths to port. Moving aft into the spacious master stateroom with the queen bed on the starboard side and a very nice head with tub. Broker's Comments
This classic Blanchard 65 Bridgedeck Cruiser is an elegant piece of Seattle history, masterfully designed by Ed Monk Sr. and built to the highest standards by Blanchard Boat Company for O. D. Fisher, owner of Fisher Flouring Mills, Seattle. She is truly a tribute to the greatest years of wooden motor yacht design and construction and is preserved as a virtual "time capsule". There are so many examples of the period correctness of this craft, from the beadboard headliners to the green wool carpeting to the checker board floors in the galley and heads. And yet she's not a museum piece -- she's ready to be cruised and offers easy handling and economical operation from rebuilt Detroit 671s. Warning -- she will draw incredible attention in every port of call!
