The hull design of the Camano 31 is unique and well-regarded for its stability, seaworthiness, and efficiency. The deep, hollow v-shaped keel provides about 25% of the hull's displacement, and above displacement speeds helps lift the stern so that water runs cleanly off the transom, thus maintaining a more linear speed-fuel relationship up to 17 knots. An additional benefit of the Keelform hull is that the engine is mounted in the keel, lowering the center of gravity. The boat heels very little even in tight turns. Owners speak of its stable performance in difficult sea conditions and its fuel efficiency, especially in the speed range from 10 - 15 knots -- a difficult speed for planing or displacement hulls of this size.

Pronounced bow flair keeps the spray down and makes for a dryer boat.

Prop and rudder are protected by a skeg.

The exceptionally large window area is subdivided into enough segments that structural rigidity is maintained.

Solid, hand-laid fiberglass below the waterline, with foam coring above the waterline. The windlass and deck fixtures are backed with metal backing plates.

Extensive sound-deadening insulation is used in the cabin floor, making the boat unusually quiet in operation.

Windows and the main cabin door are Diamond Seaglaze -- very long-lasting quality with an effective seal against water intrusion and exterior noise.

Recent maintenance: All window frames cleared of surface oxidation and sprayed with an epoxy-primer combo for protection (Fall 2016).

Hauled out and bottom painted (Seahawk brand paint). All anodes replaced. Barnacle Guard protection applied to prop, shaft, stainless steel skeg - October 2016.

This Camano 31 has been extremely well maintained and it shows. The owners have been very attentive to configuring energy efficiency while at anchor as well.

The cockpit is wired for a pot puller or down rigger if crabbing or fishing is a passion. A fresh water hot/cold shower is available for washing down the cockpit after fishing, or washing toes after beachcombing. The owner has a canvas cockpit cover with hardware and enclosure windows in storage. A Magma propane barbeque is stored in the lazarette along with a stern line and many extras.

A ladder leads to the flybridge which has a large area for seating along with 3 side-by-side helms chairs. There is a large "Anchor Shade" cover for the seating area to provide shade.

Stepping inside the saloon you notice it is surprisingly large and open, with plenty of room for adult-sized people to move around. The L-settee to port converts to a double berth which is reportedly very comfortable for a couple. Large windows allow an extraordinary amount of light into the cabin and aid while at the helm. The boat is heated with Webasto Air Top diesel-fired forced air cabin heat to enjoy boating year round.

Just two steps from the saloon and helm is the very efficient galley to port, the head is situated under the helm to starboard. The galley is equipped with a Force 10 propane range, Kenmore microwave, NovaKool refrigerator/freezer, and ample storage. The head, to starboard, has a custom holder for the shower handle. The toilet, Vacuflush system, makes conservative use of holding tank capacity. The boat is equipped with an overboard macerator discharge (macerator replaced 2016). The shower curtain has been professionally cleaned and remains in its cover directly from the cleaners. The owners have replaced the hot water heater (approx 3 yrs old).

LED lights throughout boat for efficiency on house bank and all curtains have been professionally dry cleaned.

The forward V-berth (6'5" on centerline) is deceptively large; owner states uses king size sheet to cover efficiently. There is a privacy curtain rather than a door and a large hanging locker is quite deep with a hanging storage rack in the back.

Owner has complete set of original manuals for all systems and has included manuals for each additional upgrade. Original electrical wiring diagrams on board as well.
