TAMD-41 six-cylinder turbo-diesel - quiet running and reliable power. 2003 hours on the engine.
A defined "cruising speed" as stated above is a bit of a misnomer. Thanks to the unique hull design and powerful propulsion the boat cruises very well at any speed up to its max speed. Unlike conventional semi-displacement hulls or planing hulls there is no awkward speed to avoid. So pick your favorite speed and set your throttle!
Floscan installed for accurate measurement of fuel consumption rate.
Keypower 5-hp bow thruster.
Xantrex Freedom Marine 20 inverter (2000w) / charger (100 amps) with remote monitor in cabin.
House bank consists of four deep-cycle batteries (new in 2016). Separate start battery (new 2016).
Complete engine service August 2019.

The hull design of the Camano 31 is unique and well-regarded for its stability, seaworthiness, and efficiency. The deep, hollow v-shaped keel provides about 25% of the hull's displacement, and above displacement speeds help lift the stern so that water runs cleanly off the transom, thus maintaining a more linear speed-fuel relationship up to 17 knots. An additional benefit of the Keelform hull is that the engine is mounted in the keel, lowering the center of gravity. The boat heels very little even in tight turns. The owners speak of its stable performance in difficult sea conditions and its fuel efficiency, especially at speeds from 10 - 14 knots that are difficult for planing or displacement hulls of this size.
Pronounced bow flair keeps the spray down and makes for a dryer boat.
Prop and rudder are protected by a skeg.
The exceptionally large window area is subdivided into enough segments that structural rigidity is maintained.
Solid, hand-laid fiberglass below the waterline, with foam coring above the waterline. The windlass and deck fixtures are backed with metal backing plates.
Extensive sound-deadening insulation is used in the cabin floor, making the boat unusually quiet in operation.
This "Gnome" model was custom-ordered and built without the flybridge commonly installed on Camanos to create a very capable fishing machine. The topside area provides incredible storage for crab pots and other gear, and the low profile reduces clearance and windage.

This 1995 Camano 31 is a rare "Gnome" model -- a Camano 31 built without a flybridge or a flybridge cowling. This provides a lower profile and plenty of topside storage for crab or shrimp pots or kayaks or....
This boat has been carefully maintained, is equipped with a full complement of updated Garmin navigational electronics and is in terrific, super clean condition with low hours. It has been boathouse kept. She has very attractive new Teak and Holly flooring in the interior cabin. The stern is rigged for a Weaver davit.
The Camano 31 is a well-known Northwest boat and was designed for Northwest waters -- ready to handle a wide range of conditions, sturdy, simple to operate and maintain, workboat like in appearance, capable of comfortable long-range cruising, and with an amazingly large interior space. It would be literally impossible to design a boat with better 360-degree visibility and more light. This boat must be experienced on the water to be fully appreciated. It feels solid, maneuvers extremely well, and moves at any speed within a wide range with surprising efficiency.
The Camano 31 is known to be a carefully-built boat. All the hoses and wires and fasteners are precisely run. The engine room is practically a work of industrial art. Everything fits exactly as it should. The Camano 31 embodies the "less is more" philosophy to perfection. The result is a boat that is simple to operate and maintain yet capable of duty as a stout little ship.
