A defined "cruising speed" as stated above is a bit of a misnomer. Thanks to the unique hull design and powerful propulsion the boat cruises very well at any speed up to its max speed. Unlike conventional semi-displacement hulls or planing hulls there is no awkward speed to avoid. So pick your favorite speed and set your throttle!
This boat has one of the few BMW / Mercruiser Diesel engines installed in the Camanos. The BMW engine is internationally known as one of the best and widely used in Europe. With only 1,906 hours on it there is certainly a lot of life remaining. The owner has maintained all the mechanical parts and recently replaced the engine heat exchangers and replaced the transmission with a new ZF transmission with a 5 year warranty.
The Webasto Diesel hydronic heat system has also just serviced and the main heating unit was replaced.
New bottom paint in August 2015.
All three batteries (two 6 volt and one 12 volt) have been replaced this year. The Newmar battery charger was also added.

The Camano 31 was built in Canada and is all hand-laid fiberglass. The Keelform Hull design provides excellent rough water capability. The hollow v-shaped keel lowers the center of gravity giving the boat a very stable ride.
Fuel efficient at 8 knots she burns about a gallon and a half per hour. The semi-displacement hull also allows a top speed of 15 knots.

The Nova lift can be used setting the 9.8 HP Nissan outboard on the 10' RIB or helping out when pulling a crab or shrimp pot. (A crab pot is included with the boat). The #10 self tailing transom mounted winch also makes both of these chores easier.
Twin grab rails P&S on the cabin side provide safe access to the fore deck.

The FURUNO autopilot (NavPilot) was also added three years ago.
The old location for the radar antenna was utilized with the mounting of a remotely-controlled search light.
An Autohelm tri-data display provides boat speed-depth and log. The Si-Tex color fish finder, ICOM M602 VHF, and the Radio Shack CB Radio are older but in good operating condition.
A Garmin GPS is located on the Fly Bridge for back up.

Broker's Comments
The Camano 31 Trawler is well known in the Pacific Northwest, and with her Keelform hull, sturdy construction, huge fly-bridge they have earned a reputation as a very capable small cruising trawler.
This boat includes several customization's: custom wine storage cabinet in the salon, overhead storage cabinet for charts and chart books. Additionally, this vessel is registered as a LLC and participates in the WindWorks charter program in Seattle.
Built with the BMW engine these engines have proven to be exceedingly reliable and parts are readily available. ( Interestingly in 1992 - 1993 US buyers were turned off with the Volvo engines due to higher costs for parts, as such Bob Warman (the designer and builder) chose to use the BMW engine for the US market as BMW / Mercruiser was and is well known. As best as we can determine, three were built using the BMW / Mercruiser engine and there have been no complaints about this engine by any of the owners"
The owner of this boat has provided information for your reference:

"The BMW engine website is : http://www.bmwmarine.com
Richard Langty is who I have spoken with at BMW Marine. They have complete rebuild kits for this motor for around $1600 US. The rebuild in done in the boat and the motor does not need to be removed. That's a Huge advantage over the Volvo motor! Other Camano owners are jealous of this fact.
The motor has both the Mercruiser and BMW part numbers. Richard can tell you how to read the numbers. Simply Mercruiser placed a 4 or 5 digit number in front of the original BMW number. So it is very easy to cross reference these numbers and find parts. BMW Marine’s network extends all the way back to the original factory in Belgium when the BMW Sliver paint was changed to Mercruiser Black. On my motor your can see where the original BMW casting was and it was milled off by Mercruiser. Richard Langty’s number in Ontario is 807-543-3003. "Parts can be shipped over night. That engine is one tough beast and still has another 3000 or more hours in her."
