In addition to the standard layup and interior work done by the factory the interior was completely rebuilt in 2004 and 2005 from the bilge up. The exterior was also refinished by Alan King Yacht Restorations in 2014.
The hull was refinished with professional two part epoxy resin/paint.

The access to the upper deck is with an oversized aluminum ladder. The aft deck is covered with bimini top and there are large storage compartment under the seat.

Broker's Comments

If you want to go to Alaska and spend some real time cruising the wilds then this is the boat for you!

First about the designer / builder - Barry Farrell: Barry started his career in the industry at age 15 by working at the Alberni Shipyard in Canada and began building his own boats at age 18 and never stopped. There are over 180 boats with the Farrell name. Most of these were designed and used for commercial applications, primarily fishing, but some including this boat were built as pleasure crafts.

The seller reports that this boat is often recognized as a Barry Farrell by those who make their living on the water, and that it is respected and admired. The strong sheerline, the sharply flared bow and the elongated house are distinctive and attractive design elements. And the rounded stern is a lovely design derived from practical and efficient purpose.

This vessel was re-powered in 2004 with a New, 1998 210 HP Cummins turbo diesel engine, and the Aqua Drive was added at that time. The Aqua Drive eliminates and shaft pressure on the engine and reduces the vibration and noise level.

A major concern for long range cruisers is minimizing fuel use. The engine will consume 1.4 gallons per hour at 1200 RPMs moving the boat at 7.25 knots. This gives a range of 1000 nautical miles with a 30% reserve.

There is a long list of special options that will be reviewed in later sections but I must say at this time that all the gear is included for fishing, crabbing, kayaking ( two are included) and, most importantly, safety. There are even four cold water survival suits.

A special option is the ability to collect rain water while cruising. The upper deck is set up with drains that allow rain water to be collected and piped to water tanks (yes, the decks have to be clean). Water is always in short supply up north so this helps lengthen your cruising time.
The vessel has been stored every year for 10 years in fresh water and covered with it's custom three piece CAD designed cover.
An example of the details available , the owner states that the Pantry and Freezer have sufficient storage for four months of cruising with two people.
This is a well equipped and well maintained Costal Cruiser. It is ready to go!

** Two more things - the Canadian Duty/GST Tax is paid and the fuel is full.
